The people of the South West are being offered the chance to receive behind the scenes gossip from the upcoming Copenhagen Climate Change Conference.

Liberal Democrat MEP Graham Watson is attending the Conference as Chairman of the e-Parliament, and is offering constituents the chance to sign up for his Copenhagen newsletter.

He said;

"Whatever your beliefs, the Copenhagen Conference will be the most important political event of the year.

"The decisions made in Copenhagen will affect every community around the world, so it is only right that ordinary people are involved in the process.

"I'm not promising bombshells, but I should hopefully be able to shed some South West light on the Conference!"

Notes:

Graham will be attending the Copenhagen Conference from 13-17 December.

Readers can sign up to Graham's newsletter by emailing euro_office@cix.co.uk.

For more information on how to contact Graham during the Conference, contact euro_office@cix.co.uk, or telephone 01458 252265.

Graham will be reporting on the Copenhagen Conference through articles in the Bristol Evening Post and Western Morning News shortly after the event.

Graham Watson MEP;

Graham has been an MEP since 1994. During his time as an MEP he has chaired the European Parliament's Justice and Home Affairs Committee and led the trans-national, 100 MEP strong Liberal Democrat group for 7½ years. He is now regarded as one of the most senior MEPs, and leads the European Parliament's delegation to India, and is influential as a member of the Chinese delegation. These two positions put him in a unique position to comment on the proceedings of the Conference, as negotiations with these two countries will be key to getting a deal.

Graham has consistently campaigned for action on climate change, being named the "Greenest MEP" by Friends of the Earth, and supporting environmentally friendly projects throughout the region. Graham believes that the South West can become a green energy leader, tackling climate change and producing skilled "green collar" jobs for the Westcountry.
